Remove EXIF Metadata from Photos

Strip the GPS coordinates, capture time, and device details your camera writes into every photo. Dimensions and quality stay untouched, and files are processed inside your browser rather than uploaded to a server.

How to use

  1. Drop your photos here or click to choose them. You can select several at once.
  2. Pick an output format. The default, keep original, preserves the dimensions and format.
  3. Press remove metadata to get a clean copy. Multiple files come back as a ZIP.

FAQ

Are the GPS coordinates really removed?
Yes. EXIF is stored in a block separate from the image pixels, and this tool redraws the photo onto a canvas and encodes a new file. Only the visible pixels are written, so the GPS position, capture time, and device model do not make it into the result.
Does it reduce image quality?
Saving as PNG keeps every pixel, so nothing is lost. Saving as JPG adds one more round of lossy compression, but quality is set to 92, which is hard to tell apart by eye.
Will the photo dimensions change?
No. Compression and resize tools also strip EXIF as a side effect, but they change the size or the quality along the way. This tool leaves the photo alone and removes only the metadata.
Do social networks not strip it anyway?
Instagram, Facebook, and X do remove it on upload. But original-quality sends in messaging apps, email attachments, marketplace listings, and cloud share links often keep it. It's safer to clean a copy yourself than to rely on the platform.
