FAQ
- Why does my browser not show TIFF files?
- Most browsers simply do not support displaying TIFF. It has been a standard in printing, publishing and archiving for decades, so professional tools handle it well — the web does not. Converting to JPG makes the file open on any device.
- How are multi-page TIFFs handled?
- One JPG per page. Scanned documents very often pack many pages into a single file, and this tool converts all of them rather than silently dropping the rest. Narrow the page range if you only need part of it.
- Why does the size drop so much?
- TIFF is usually uncompressed or losslessly compressed, so a single page can run to tens of megabytes. JPG is lossy, bringing the same page down to a few hundred kilobytes. Bear in mind that text-heavy documents pick up smearing around letters in JPG — for those, convert to PNG instead.
